First week of September, 2013.
Ciudad Medical Zamboanga, Zamboanga City, PHILIPPINES. The members of EXECOM as
ever, were busy and excited preparing for the upcoming PQA visit and the
upcoming @ 10 to Excellence and onwards ( CMZ's big celebration) plus many
other activities that occupied their time and attention.
Meanwhile, some of the members of
EXECOM (CEO, Atty, Jhihann Natividad, MEDICAL DIRECTOR, Dra. Filipinas Rojo, HR
MANAGER, Juvee Calica) are going to attend H.M.A. Convention in Bangkok,
Thailand some time second week of September 2013. A very good opportunity for
CMZ! Their attendance to this activity will be beneficial to CMZ since they
will be bringing fresh and new ideas on hospital management, new innovation,
new and updated standard of hospital administration and many other experiences
that money can't buy.
On the other hand, CMZ President Dr.
Joven Monsanto will fly to Manila still on the the second week of September,
2013 to personally attend important activity.
September 9, 2013, 5:30 in the
morning, second week of September, 2013. Without any hint, a very sadden event
happened to the City. The MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front) rebels attacked
Zamboanga City with whom the intention was unclear and very disappointing, all
of which are for their personal, selfish and impossible reasons (only they know
and understand).
Without delay, all the members of
the EXECOM rushed into the hospital and convened for that purpose. Together
with the CMZ's active chairman of the Disaster Preparedness Committee, Dr.
George Rojo, planning was done and the implementing guidelines was
formulated and was quickly out for hospital-wide implementation.
Immediately, Security and safety of
the hospital was tightened, e.i all the entrance were closed and entry of all
vehicles are being controlled, an additional security personnel were deployed,
police/military officers were requested to station at the hospital, and main
entrance security check tightened.
Admin employees and EXECOM got their
hands full during this time. Food was provided ( breakfast, lunch, dinner
including late night merienda) to all the CMZ employees and Doctors present,
including the security and police officers which started last September 9, 2013
until the end of this crisis and until the situation normalizes. The HR
manager double-quickly sent SMS to all the employees who stayed home to stay
safe and for those who resided in the affected barangay's to evacuate for
safety reasons.
Before I forget, did I mention that
some of the members of the EXECOM including the President will go out of
the country and out of town respectively this second week? Well, they didn't
pursue. They sacrificed the privilege to go for the spirit of compassion and
service and to take care of the employees of CMZ. That for me, is a
true HERO. One don't have to go out and fight patriotically to become
a hero. One just have to simply serve with commitment to sacrifice for the sake
of others.
This is to express the CMZ's warm
thank you to our dedicated Board Members, CMZ Committee chairperson and
members, members of the EXECOM, Admin staff, All employees, all security
officers, all volunteers who selflessly devoted their time and hard work to
pursue our vision, mission and core values. Kudos and Thumbs up!
